Mobilizing Members for Activities
Mobilization activities depend on the volunteerism of union members.
Whatever the activity (e.g., rallies, leafleting, visiting legislators, working on phone banks), you can increase the participation of members by using the following guidelines:
- ask the member in person
- let the member know their help is needed
- tell the member a definite beginning and end to the activity
- ask the member to do something he or she does well
- give the member a choice of jobs
